Asian Art Museum

The Asian Art Museum is located in the city's former Main Library andis the largest collection of Asian Art in the West Coast that can be found under one roof. The museum, exclusively devoted to Asian art, started with the generous donations of collector Avery Brundage. The collection grew with time and now the facility houses nearly 15,000 possessions that span 6,000 years of history. The museum puts up more than 2,500 amazing works on display at any one time. Discover exhibits from old cultures, including those of India, Tibet, China, Japan and Korea.

In case you get hungry, there is a swanky restaurant nearby called Jardiniere (415-861-5555) that you may want to visit. Try their Alaskan Halibut with roasted artichokes; it's crispy fresh. If you want to enjoy some nice drinks and live entertainment, go over to the Great American Music Hall. You can see comedy acts on stage on many nights.

If you feel like staying nearby, try the Hilton San Francisco for a nice and comfortable stay. If you are into the arts, stay at Phoenix Hotel. It is known as the rock 'n roll hotel of San Francisco because it has hosted celebrities like David Bowie, Pearl Jam, Sinead O' Connor and Anthony Keidis.
