Embarcadero

The Embarcadero is the eastern waterfront roadway of the Port of San Francisco. You can go to Jack London Square via ferry from the Ferry Building. The restored building houses many excellent shops, restaurants and cafes. Notice the old 235-foot clock tower, which still functions and the bell chimes every 15 minutes.

From Embarcadero, go to Fisherman's Wharf and AT&T Park, both are a little over a mile away. On the way, see the streets lined with palm trees in both directions. The antique street cars can be taken to Castro Street or to Fisherman's Wharf from here.

Shop at the sidewalk farmer's market in front of the Ferry Building or look at the Bay bridge tunneling through Yerba Buena Island from the rear of this building and get views of Treasure Island located on the left side of Yerba Buena Island.

If you want a nice eschewing experience, go to the top of Hyatt Regency Hotel and eat at Equinox -- the revolving restaurant with great views of the city (415-291-6619). Later, walk into the Atrium Bar located in the Hyatt and enjoy some of the finest cocktails in town.

The Hyatt Regency San Francisco definite a top choice if you plan to stay in the are. If you feel the crunch, stay at the the Hotel Astoria San Francisco located just a block from Chinatown.
