Golden Gate Park

Considered the largest cultivated urban park in the country, this incredible haven boasts more than 1,000 acres of gardens, meadows and woodlands. The park stretches three miles inland from the Bay, and is home to the de Young Museum, the Japanese Tea Garden, Strybing Arboretum, the California Academy of Sciences, Conservatory of Flowers and has 27 miles of footpaths. Despite the beauty of its apparently natural surroundings, the park is entirely man-made.

From the Golden Gate Park, Legion of Honor is within a mile's reach and you can go approximately 3 miles down to see the San Francisco Zoo.

If all the walking makes you hungry, there is Marnee Thai (415-665-9500) located close by, that serves Asian cuisine. You can also opt to enjoy fresh crab in black bean sauce and tofu at Ton Kiang (415-387-8273). Later, kick back with a beer at Mucky Duck or enjoy foreign brews on tap at the Abbey Tavern.

Nearby, you can find 1904 authentic ambiance at the Stanyan Park Hotel. Enjoy free WiFi through out the hotel. Or stay at The Hotel Drisco and enjoy complimentary continental breakfast and evening wine tasting.
