Get a feel for the eastern lifestyle at the Japanese Tea Garden. Learn more about harmony and balance the Oriental way and notice the detail for sophistication.
Situated near the Asian Art Museum, these wonderfully landscaped grounds feature ponds, beautiful waterfalls, Japanese bonsai trees and Japanese-style buildings. The garden is spread over an area of five acres. Stroll by an authentic pagoda, a monumental Buddha, a miniature waterfall and over an arched bridge. Stop by at the Japanese-style teahouse near the garden's koi-filled pond and enjoy the eastern flavors.
The teahouse is more than a century old and has always been the focus of the garden. It is a wonderful spot to sip tea and soak in the splendor of the surroundings. You can have jasmine, green, oolong or iced tea as well as standard soft drinks. With drinks you get served with a complementary bowl of cookies (almond, sesame seed and fortune) and rice crackers.
While you are there, visit the gift shop located near the teahouse and purchase gifts with a Japanese flair. Restrooms are located near the gate to the tea garden.
